Wienke studied Constitutional and Administrative Law and International and European Law at Groningen University and at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. During her studies, she followed an internship with the Center for Human Rights and Environment in Argentina, where she gained in-depth knowledge about the relationship between human rights and the state of the environment and access to environmental information.

Her career as a lawyer started in 2005. She has been working at AKD since 2010, where she is part of the Regulatory and Governmental Affairs practice group. Her focus within this practice group is on environmental law in general, and nature conservation law in particular. Wienke's clients include government organisations, businesses, private individuals, and non-profit organisations. Wienke advises and litigates regularly in proceedings pertaining to the Environmental Permitting (General Provisions) Act and the Environmental Management Act, and in cases involving the regulations and planning procedures based on such (such as integrated environmental permits, zoning plans, and zoning plan amendments).

Her particular field of specialisation is nature conservation law. She is therefore regularly involved in permit and dispensation procedures and enforcement issues associated with the Nature Conservation Act 1998 and the Flora and Fauna Act. She also deals with nitrogen-related issues.

In 2010, Wienke successfully completed the VMA/Grotius specialist course in Spacial Planning and Environmental Law. She moreover regularly publishes and lectures on subjects dealt with by her practice and is a member of the Environmental Law Association.
