Eveline Sillevis Smitt assists businesses with complex Environmental Permitting (General Provisions) Act (Wabo) permit procedures and advises and litigates in relation to environmental liability, enforcement procedures and aspects of air quality, noise, soil (contamination), odours, discharges, IPPC, external safety, environmental protection, emissions and emission rights trading, as well as the application of secondary building materials and environmental impact reports. She also provides support during specialised (environmental) disputes in relation to asbestos (liability), the waste disposal law, including the import and export of waste substances (EVOA) and nuclear energy.

She also uses her knowledge in the field of environmental law for issues involving planning and zoning law. She advises companies in relation to property development and infrastructural projects, as well as the associated aspects of spatial planning. She also supports property developers in relation to urban renewal programs and the restructuring of former industrial estates. A whole range of issues are resolved, such as those connected with zoning plans, Wabo environmental permits, land usage, and compensation. In addition, she has knowledge and expertise in relation to (listed) historical buildings, the Crisis and Recovery Act and the Infrastructure (Planning Procedures) Act.

On top of her practice Eveline regularly publishes and teaches in the field of planning and zoning law on a postgraduate property development course at NOVAM. Furthermore, she is often invited to speak at client seminars and on various educational courses, such as the SBO.
