Bart Roozendaal obtained his doctorate in 1998 with a comparative law thesis on governmental liability. He subsequently moved to the legal profession. He has worked in the Regulatory and Governmental Affairs practice group since 1998, and has been partner in that practice group since 2004.

Bart specialises in all aspects of Dutch administrative law, including the relationship between administrative law and private law. He is frequently involved in issues concerning governmental liability, such as unlawful governmental acts and losses and compensation resulting from governmental planning decisions. He also concentrates on spatial planning law and public order issues. He advises public authorities and companies in all of these areas and frequently conducts litigation at the civil court and the administrative law court.

Bart frequently lectures on the subjects of governmental liability, the law of administrative procedure and public order. He also publishes regularly in various journals.

He has been listed in the Quote "Best Lawyer Guide" since 2002 and the magazine Quote Pro (2004) described him as a 'smart, fast, super-specialist'.
