Niels van Nuland (1981) specialises in European and Dutch competition law and works for the European and Competition Law practice group in Brussels. He previously worked as a corporate law solicitor. Niels studied Civil and Business Law at the University of Leiden (the Netherlands). He furthermore studied European law at the Université de Lyon III: Jean Moulin (France) in the context of an Erasmus exchange.

Niels is involved in advising and litigating on cartel agreements and abuse of a dominant position, procurement law and state aid. He represents companies and public authorities in proceedings before the European Commission, the Netherlands Competition Authority and the Dutch courts.

Together with other members of the European and Competition Law practice group, he furthermore regularly assists in notifications of mergers and acquisitions.

Niels is a member of the Legal Expertise Center of AKD. He gives courses and lectures on competition law, procurement law and private international law. He also has various publications to his name.

Finally, Niels is a member of the Bars of both Den Bosch (the Netherlands) and Brussels (EU list).
