Hans van Mens (1961) became a partner in AKD in January 2006. Prior to this he was a partner in a medium-sized law firm in the south of the Netherlands. He has worked in the legal profession continuously since 1987.

Hans has built up years of experience in Employment Law and Corporate Law and is now a specialist in all areas of Employment Law. He chiefly represents large and medium-sized companies as well as institutions active in the education and healthcare sectors. He advises and supports job performance evaluation procedures and reorganisations and mergers, and he is regularly involved in issues concerning business transfers, outsourcing, and payrolling. In this context, he also provides advice and support in the fields of employee participation and collective labour agreement negotiations. He often acts as a sparring partner for executive boards and supervisory boards in relation to the performance of board members.

Disputes concerning the implementation of employment agreements with medical specialists or admission agreements and/or partnership agreements can also be placed in his capable hands.

Hans van Mens is a member of various professional associations including the Association of Employment Law Lawyers (VvA) and the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA). Furthermore, he is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Nederlandse Stichting voor Woon- en ActiviteitenCentra (Netherlands Foundation for Residential and Activity Centres). Within AKD, Hans is amongst other things a member of the Healthcare practice group.
