Henrike van de Laar (1975) rounded off her legal studies at Leiden University in 1999 and has worked as a lawyer since 2000. For several years she has advised companies across the entire spectrum of employment law; experience which places her in an excellent position to work proactively in devising practical solutions to her clients problems.

Henrike is chiefly involved in resolving cases concerning individual and collective dismissals, in dealing with employee participation, collective employment agreements, employment-related aspects of mergers and acquisitions and international employment law. Henrike successfully completed the post-academic course in employment law (PALA) run by Erasmus University, in 2004. She frequently leads internal and external courses on participatory law and international employment law (with a focus on problems faced by expatriates) in both Dutch and English.

Over the last few years, Henrike has been the key figure from AKD’s employment law practice within the international Employment Service Line. She is also a member of the firm’s employee council and has acquired both theoretical and practical experience with the Dutch Works Councils Act.

Henrike is the author of a number of publications covering a range of topics relating to employment law.
