Pieter Huys has been working as an Employment lawyer at AKD in Rotterdam since 2000. As per 2008 he is a partner at AKD and head of the Employment Law practice group in Rotterdam. Currently, he is also head of the Transport and Logistics division of AKD. Pieter mainly specializes in labour disputes, in which he has developed a special interest in work related fraud cases. Furthermore, he has a lot of experience in reorganizations, corporate transfers (out-/insourcing) and matters subject to employee participation.
It gives Pieter a lot of energy to work closely with his clients. It enables him to really get to know his clients, so he can adequately address the needs of his clients and thereby achieve maximum result. Pieter is very pragmatic and is always looking for opportunities. A simple 'no, it’s not possible’ does not exist for him. It gives him great satisfaction to make complex things manageable and create direct and sustainable results. Pieter’s regular clients include Burger King, Carrier, CEVA Logistics, Du Pont de Nemours, Royal Boskalis Westminster, Pernod Ricard, Rademaker and SMIT Internationale.
Pieter is a member of the Rotterdam Employment Law Association (‘VRAA’) and the Dutch Employment Law Association (‘VAAN’).
