Houven van Oordt, Haco van der

Haco van der Houven van Oordt (1971), head of the Shipping, Trade & Insurance practice group, is a shipping specialist. He has extensive experience of handling marine casualties, including collision, salvage and wreck removal, and is frequently instructed in relation to offshore, shipbuilding, charter party and insurance issues. A substantial part of his practice relates to ship arrests and the initiation of judicial auctions.

Haco is regularly appointed as lead counsel in multi-jurisdictional proceedings and his clients include shipowners, charterers, offshore and dredging companies, shipyards, insurers, banks and trading companies.

Haco is recommended in major international listings such as Legal 500, Chambers Europe, Who’s Who Legal and Best Lawyers.
