Nico Broers (1954) began working as a lawyer in 1978. A member of the practice group Construction and Real Estate at AKD, his specialist field is Rental law. Nico’s practice focuses mainly on the letting of business premises ranging from retail outlets, catering establishments, small trading units and specialist workshops through to miscellaneous business spaces which offer facilities management.
He also advises housing associations and, where necessary, acts on their behalf in legal cases concerning residential lets. His practice provides clients with a variety of services in arranging and terminating contracts, and removing tenants, with an emphasis on resolving rental disputes within the retail, hotel, restaurant and catering trades. Nico is also frequently engaged in settling cases involving squatters.
In 1992, Nico became a member of the then recently established association of rental law lawyers (Vereniging van Huurrechtadvocaten). From 1994 to 2007, he held the position of deputy judge in Den Bosch court and in recent years he has acted as lecturer in rental law at the Deloitte Academy.
