as accidents and damage, and we assist our clients in negotiating
contract with international carriers and advise them on
environmental legislation, European legislation and international
aviation treaties.
Shipping and offshore activities
AKD occupies a leading position in the shipping and
offshore sector. We have international as well as national clients,
including charterers, freight carriers, refuellers, builders of
exclusive yachts, and large shipyards. Most of our work focuses on
the drawing up of contracts for the construction of ships and
offshore rigs, and we also handle disputes through arbitration or
mediation, e.g. in the event of collisions or bankruptcies.
Road and rail transport
With respect to rail transport, AKD acts for ProRail by
handling the legal side of matters such as derailment, collisions
and damage to the railway. And with respect to road transport, most
of our clients are big insurance companies and international
carriers.
