Environment
Due to influence from the EU, the environment often plays a decisive role in initiatives taken by the government and the business community, and legal and technical developments are taking place in rapid succession.
Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of the Integrated Pollution
Prevention and Control Directive (best available techniques, BAT),
the Environmental Management Act (environmental permits), the
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), the Activities Decree and
the Environmental Permitting (General Provisions)
Act (Wabo) is therefore essential with respect to layout,
infrastructure, transport and regional development.
International recognition
Our knowledge and experience in the field of environmental
law is unique in the Netherlands. Our team has enjoyed official
national and international recognition in this field for many
years, and is fully specialised in all the relevant aspects. These
include waste, soil, CO2, (sustainable) energy, emissions, external
safety, noise, odour, nuclear energy, air quality, nature, residual
heat and water. The same applies to (chemical) substances including
crop protection products, biocides and veterinary medicines. In
these respects, we cooperate closely with other specialists at our
offices (Life Sciences & Agro Food) wherever necessary.
Examples of our activities
Our specialists are involved in a number of activities in
this field, including large-scale infrastructural projects such as
the Betuwe all-freight railway line, the widening of the A4
motorway and the construction of power stations. We also assist
(petro)chemical companies at the ports of Rotterdam and
Amsterdam.
