Copyright law
Copyright law ensures the protection of widely divergent types of creative achievements.
Copyright law ensures the protection of widely divergent types of creative achievements.
This law not only protects authors, but also people such as
fashion designers, composers, photographers, web designers,
publicity agents and computer programmers. Since our specialists in
the IP&T practice group have considerable experience in the
various aspects of copyright law, we can guarantee you effective
legal assistance in all areas.
The importance of copyrights
Copyright comes into existence by the mere fact of the
creation of the work. Although in most jurisdictions one cannot
register copyright, it can be useful to create a record of this in
the event discussions arise on the question of who has the most
long-standing rights to a certain creation. Our clients regularly
take advantage of the opportunity to record their copyrighted work
(such as a new range of clothes) with our civil-law notaries in
cases where parties have to prove who holds the most long-standing
rights.
