Full support in the event of divorce
Divorce is a complicated process in which emotional and impersonal considerations continually get mixed up.
Full support in the event of divorce
Divorce is a complicated process in which emotional and impersonal considerations continually get mixed up.
At AKD, we take both these aspects into account. We will give
you our full support in all matters relating to divorce or
separation. These matters vary from custody of the children and
maintenance to property issues and division of the pension
accrued.
Mediation instead of litigation
In many cases, the parties can save themselves a great
deal of annoyance, grief and money by deciding in favour of
mediation. If you choose this option, we will endeavour to arrange
and record matters relating to the divorce and its consequences in
consultation, under the expert guidance of a divorce mediator.
Experience has shown that the results of divorce mediation are more
acceptable to all parties concerned than a court decision. Our
lawyers also act as mediators and are members of the Association of
Family Lawyers and Divorce Mediators (vFAS).
Collaborative divorce
Collaborative divorce is a way of resolving conflicts that
lies midway between mediation and litigation. In the same way as
mediation, no court is involved, although the difference with
mediation is that each of the partners has his or her own lawyer,
who primarily represents the interests of his or her client. These
four people work together as a team. Other experts such as coaches,
child experts and financial experts may also form part of this
team. Their aim is to regulate the consequences of the divorce in
consultation with one another. Our specialists in this area are
Paul Sliepenbeek and Marieke Burgers-Thomassen, both of whom are
members of the Collaborative Divorce Holland Association.
