VNG and BMC have reached agreement on the takeover by BMC of the
research and advisory consultancy SGBO. SGBO was established by VNG
in 1964 to provide policy advice and support in the implementation
of new policies, laws and regulations, process management and
ensuring the quality of organisations.
SGBO remains as an independent entity within BMC, retaining its trade name and identity. The firm will continue to be based in The Hague with management staying in the hands of the current director, Mariëtte Glim. Around 60 advisers and researchers are employed by SGBO.
BMC comprises four consultancies each covering a specific terrain which work in a complementary fashion and collaborate, when required. The core value of BMC is to link policy advice to iimplementation. The takeover allows BMC to reinforce its profile in the research field, in terms of both scale and quality. Synergy and focus on market operations is expected to enlarge the market share of both organisations.
