16 October, Withers LLP and AKD Prinsen van Wijmen will jointly
host in London their second Annual Seminar on the Enforcement of
Intellectual Property in Europe.
The keynote speaker will be Mr Toine Manders, Member of the
European Parliament. He will provide a general perspective of
intellectual property in Europe with a focus on legislative
developments such as the Criminal Sanctions Directive. Mr Manders'
interest in this field stems from his background as both a designer
and an attorney at law. In the European Parliament, Mr Toine
Manders is active in the field of legal affairs and the Internal
Market.
The seminar will provide a business, enforcement agency and
attorney perspective for effective action against counterfeit and
parallel trade via the internet. It will deal with customs control
for counterfeit goods, including suggestions for change to the
current Regulation. Differences in application of the Regulation in
the various countries will be highlighted. Finally Mr Manders will
