barge shipping company, and is the largest German shipping company
on the Rhine. It carries 46 million tons of cargo each year on
Europe's inland waterways. Compagnie Française de Navigation
Rhénane S.A. is the largest French shipping company on the Rhine,
and is specialized in inland waterway transport. Compagnie
Française de Navigation Rhénane S.A. is part of Atic Services Group
and has a leading position in the European market for logistical
services. It transports over 14 million tons of cargo a year.
Provaart Logistics B.V. operates a fleet of approximately 30
barges. It transports over 3 million tons of cargo a year.
The acquisition of the shares in Provaart Logistics B.V. by the
largest German and French shipping companies on the Rhine, is
referred to by the buyers as a stepping stone for a promising
cooperation.
